We started out basically staying close to home and concentrating on the Chicago area. Then, second homes became involved and we developed our Arizona hub. Since then, whenever we go on the road or down the road, we're on the lookout for more breweries! Our goal is all fifty states and at least 500 breweries!
We're in twenty three states now and we hope to concentrate in a few great locations. There are some areas of the country with outstanding reputations for breweries (you know what I'm talking about) and we all love road trips so I can see more traveling adventures ahead!
We'll prioritize our stops based on:
Brewery invites - hello!!!?
Proximity when the urge hits
Suggestions from brewery lovers (you)
Filling in map gaps
On our radar . . . Wolfden Brewing, Adams Street, Revolution,
Goose island, Dry Hop, Burnt City and Dry City Brew Works!
If you have a suggestion for a brewery (large or small) send us an email > Brewery Suggestions
Contribute
Finally, since we can't hit every brewery around, we're happy to post other people's experiences too. Just let us know - I wanna contribute!
For us to use your contribution, we'd like to see most of these items:
- Photos:
- A shot from the outside showing the entrance - make it a selfie if you want to be in it!
- Beer Taps
- Wood kegs and fermenting vessels - we love stainless steel!
- Beer menus
- Seating areas and art work
- The beer you're drinking!
- Guests and workers willing to have their face shown coast-to-coast (please ask permission)
- Tour stop writeup:
- Document your tour stop and express your general impressions of the brewery
- List the beers you tried and describe them, either with your words or the brewery's descriptions
- History of the brewery. Date founded, significant events, etc.
- Other tidbits such as who's the artist for the beer can labels, who's the brewmaster, is it pet friendly, what's the beer brewing philosophy, etc.
- Stories from guests. Are they regulars, do they live nearby, things they like about the place, etc. First names only!
- The vibe you felt and what you did and did not like. Don't be shy.
For our part, we will give you a hearty thank you! We'll fold your stop into our site and credit you using whatever first name you'd like to provide. No other personal information you provide will ever be disclosed to anyone.
By the way, we use Clyde-approved sophisticated anti-crude language technology metrics and tools in our editing process. We reserve the right to only use Sunday School appropriate words.
Good luck, future tour guides!
