Experience before you go . . . Have you ever been to a brewery in Georgia? We'll I hadn't either until the 14th of October, 2022. Georgia is the home of the Bulldogs, Augusta National Golf Club, Savannah and of course River Moon Brewing. We were on the second leg of our southern east coast vaca when we came into Savannah looking to take it all in. Our Airbnb for three couples was fabulous complete with big front porch "get'her done" coffee maker and enough counter and frig space to hold all of the wine, liquor and beer that we had brought with us. Exploring Savannah by foot is the way to go and we were located just south of all the green space parks with historic civil war and other dignitary statues that believe it or not we're still standing. So we made our way through all the parks, the ladies toured a southern mansion so we took this opportunity to pull up my Around Me app, plug in breweries and "looky here"...right around the corner was the River Moon Brewery! Not to be confused with Moon River, the famous song sung by crooner Andy Williams but was originally performed by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 movie Breakfast at Tiffany's, winning an Academy Award for Best Original Song ... Moooooon river, wider than a mile, I'm crossing you in style somedaaaaay....
Perfectly navigated front sign selfie and in we went. Hostess stand to the right which indicates to me we're talking not just beer but good food and many tables...I like it already. Horse shoe bar directly to my left with three empty bar stools and you know what happens next...we sit our butts down and get comfy fixin to order up some beers. Now behind the bar we have Amber C, nice as can be and ready to quench our thirst...Amber C, not to be confused with Amber B, who had the day off. I ordered the Cone of Uncertainty - Hazy IPA (7.2%) tropical fruit, pineapple, and citrus. Guy went with the Savannah Festbier - German Style Maemen Lager (4.8%) rich orange hue, floral and spicy goes great with a brat. Mike came in with a Spacebaliz - German-Style Scinvanbier (4.4%) drink with a burger and smile!
Managed to slip away and snap some pictures. Fun vibe, good art and room for all. Savannah is a must city to visit and River Moon is well worth the stop!!
