Experience before you go . . .

So our time in Portugal was coming to an end, and I had toured a beer museum and a local favorite little bar in Provesende but had yet to tour an actual brewery so on literally our last day of doing a self guided city tour my brother-in-law John kinda out of the blue as he was looking at his phone said, "Do you know there's a brewery right around the corner?" I said, "you don't say". Our wives, Rose & Kat said, "You two run along to the brewery, we're going to this park with the laughing statues..."Thirteen Laughing at Each Other" (known in Portuguese as Treze a Rir uns dos Outros) and we'll meet up later". Beautiful, and away we went!

We walked about 5 minutes and bing bang boom the HBT was fixing to have its 142nd tour...almost half way to our goal of 500(well kinda)!! The Cervejaria do Carmo, great location right across the street from some classic Portuguese tiled buildings...beautiful! So the front sign selfie and in we went. Nice vibe, tall ceilings, adequate seating, all around a nice place to enjoy a Portuguese beer on our last day in Porto. I know it's crazy but I ordered a bottle of Born in the IPA - American IPA (6.5%) I must be ready to go back to the states! John ordered a Super Bock which is the only original Portuguese beer since 1817, 37 consecutive gold medals, pilsener, golden and luminous beer, with a fine and refreshing flavor. We decided to sit outside, enjoy our beers and take in the street life.

Time to meet up with the ladies. We head out in the right direction but Porto is very easy to get turned around in but to me that's where the fun begins. Of course it didn't take us long to find some. We come up on some ladies dressed in party garb and you know I just had to say, "Where's the party"! Something about a wedding, bachelorette, annual thing so I was a little confused but we had to take a picture just the same...of course John and I made sure we had our wallets after the gather around selfie. But we did and all's good!!

Put Portugal on your bucket list you'll be glad you did. Fabulous people, beautiful architecture and tile and of course good cold beer!

Until next time and remember......

Go get'cha one!!
