Well our Montana adventure with Ann & Jay was spectacular and I'd be crazy not to tell and show some pictures of some of the fun had by all between breweries. We drove the "Going to the Sun Road" in Glacier National Park. This "transmountain highway" offers exceptional views at every turn. The road stretches about 50 miles between the West Entrance and St. Mary Entrance, and climbs to 6,466 ft at Logan Pass. Other days the ladies kayaked on McGregor Lake as Jay & I fished the clear blue waters. Most all of our time we wanted to spend outdoors and of course a fire pit session drinking bourbon was in order.
Alright Montana brewery #2! Tamarack Brewing Company, located in Lakeside opened in 2007 with a sister location opening in Missoula in 2011. The first year in Lakeside they brewed 380 barrels compared to 4400 in 2022. That's a lot of suds!!! It's a beautiful stand alone building with a huge bar and lots of tables and chairs downstairs with a large area upstairs for larger groups and corporate events. We obviously migrated to the bar and confiscated four barstools! We wasted no time and commenced drinking and eat. A couple Bare Bottom Blondes - (5%, 15 IBU) were ordered by the ladies while Jay and I ordered a Hat Trick Hop - IPA (7.0%, 70 IBU) and a Rye Sally Rye - IPA (6.25%, 60 IBU). For food we started with the Keg Nachos and to follow we all had a hankering for burgers...one Bison, one Big Sky, a Bleu & Brie and a Shroom and Swiss! Talk about big, juicey and tasty, ooh La La!!! Then more beer, more smiles and lots of intelligence conversation...my kinda lunch!
Montana just keeps giving in so many ways that it numbs the senses!! Tamarack is the real deal. Fab beer and food and a must if you're in the Lakeside area!! Come on, live a little!!!
