Alright a little adventure for a long weekend up in the Northwest to Willamette Valley to drink some fabulous Pinot with some good friends and some new friends...beautiful!!

Wilamette Valley, let me clear something up right now with the pronunciation of Willamette Valley! Phonically you would think it was pronounced Will a met, but you are wrong grasshopper. It is pronounced Will lamb it...damn it!! Now that I've cleared that up let's get down to beer drinking!!

We set up a full day in Portland, a city that I've really never spent much time in before and from what I've read and heard the downtown area has really never recovered from the 2020 politically charged takeover. So anyhow, we went with an open mind, hoping to find revitalization, a happy Mojo and smiles. And for the most part, that's what we experienced. So with a dinner reservation at some swanky seafood restaurant Kat and I took to the streets to do what we do best...explore. After we perused several overpriced retail stores, I found a vintage clothing store that had racks and racks of some pretty cool stuff. The first sale rack I was on I found a polo denim shirt that was probably 15 or 20 years old that rivaled my favorite shirt that I've had for probably 35 years that I've worn both elbows out on, and I was beyond giddy when I found this shirt, tried it on and it fit! I was happy as a clam!

Yeah looky here, Deschutes Brewery is right around the corner...let's go!!! Deschutes Brewery literally brews one of my older brother Larry's favorite beer, which is the Freshly Squeezed IPA! He drinks it, he smells it, he looks at it, he would probably bathe in it but that would be a waste of good beer!!! So we had to go! Great brewery, wide open, lots of wood, tv's and a great big substantial bar with...2 open bar stools!!! First things first, buy my brother a t-shirt...yeah buddy!! I order a freshly squeezed...hoppy but easy drinking and Kat orders a King Crispy Pilsner...light but refreshing! Kat goes to the little girls room and come back wearing a Deschutes camo zipper hoodie...luv it!!!

So we drink, hang out and enjoy the Dee!!! Great brewery, fab vibe and great threads!! When in Portland go for a Freshly Squeezed and yes you'll be happy, yes, happy you did!!
