Experience before you go . . .

Well the day felt right, we were in California and there was another brewery in town that had great reviews so why not do a twofer in one day!!! Fiftyfifty Brewing was on our radar as we motored down the road. A couple lefts, a couple rights, park the car in a nearby lot and notice a young gal with a black work t-shirt with 50/50 in white print on her back so we followed her to the brewery three buildings over!!!

Nirvana, we have arrived on our 149th HBT's tour stop! That's a lot of stops and a lot of barley pops (that's beer in my language)! Kat goes directly to the bar where there's two empty bar stools with our names on them! Karabunga (nickname the bartender was given by her workmates) greeted us and asked us what we were drinking. Beautiful start to a beautiful visit!! Kat orders the Truckee Blonde Ale - Blonde Ale (4.2%) clean, light, bodied and floral...just like Kat!!! I said bring me the Space Dog v 13 - Hazy IPA (7%) kuanot and moutere hops, full bodied, pine, woody, burst of citrus...yum x10!! Kat and I both feel the need to partake in 50/50's extensive menu of fine food offerings. Karabunga says everyone loves our burgers and they're big enough to split...so we ordered the Wolverine Burger...grrrrrrr!!!!!

Directly to Kat's right and around the corner is Nick, Marin County, California. Nick was the ultimate entrepreneur, the stuff that makes this country great!! From what I could gather he had thrown many business ideas against the wall to see what would stick and many did! He was great to talk to and one idea he had was a ride service from a very popular late nite bar to knock down the number of DUI's the local cops were handing out in record numbers! He bought cars and hired some folks and between the ride charge and the large tips everyone was happy until this little company called Uber came on the scene...bummer!!! Anyhow Nick was our kinda of guy and keep on seeing what sticks brother!!!

50/50 Brewery is a great place! The Wolverine was awesome, the beer was refined and Karabunga was as nice as can be! When in Truckee, 50/50 is a must and make sure you tell them you hear it on the Hoppin Brewery Tour!!
