Experience before you go . . .
It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Hoppin' Brewery Tour......thanks Twilight Zone Intro!! I always wanted to do that!! I hope we don't get sued!!
Radicle Effect lived up to its name....it was radical!! First off, our front sign selfie was like we were in a old time picture booth where you get four snap shots and each one of them is crazier or funnier then the last. Ours wasn't that crazy or even funny accept for Dan's moving head just trying to get the best angle so in that respect it was crazy and kinda funny. Selfie taken and door located, we enter as if we've been here a thousand times. The place is Hoppin' but one empty bar stool awaits our arrival. Dan beats us to the punch and claims his spot. Brad pulls out a HBT card like Matt Dillon pulling his 6-shooter out of his holster on the classic western show, Gunsmoke.....it was a beautiful thing! Barkeep Joe was studying the back of the card as Brad was talking and the next thing you hear is "You're not the Brad N. who's the drummer are you"? Apparently there's another BN who is a social media phenomenon and one heck of a drummer". And Brad knows of this drummer sporting his first and last name and immediately clears up the confusion by saying he's not the guy. But still Joe feels as if he's had a brush with greatness and instantly he and Brad are best of pals. Always good having a pal behind the bar. Flight ordered and more crazy fun high school reminiscing started. I don't know how but I managed to wander off to take some brewery pictures and I'm instantly in a fun conversation with a married couple sitting at the bar wondering what all the blue shirts were about. Come to find out Steve and Gaye are celebrating Steve's retirement after 26 years of working for the man. Retirement is like having the shackles removed and there's a new adventure waiting for you around the corner. You can do things you always wanted to do but didn't have the time or maybe the money. You go get'em Steve & Gaye, enjoy and never look back!
Before we know it five 4-oz sample are in front of us, let the tasting begin. Joe takes Brad in the production room for a quick tour of the wears. Radicle Effect brews some very interesting beers which they offer in the taproom but they also feature craft beer from other breweries. Our flight consisted of McLager Long Time - German Style Pilsner (4.7%); Strawberry & Cream - Blonde Ale brewed with Strawberry Oolong Tea (5.0%); Fictional Reality - Double Session Extra Pale (6.1%); also a Double IPA called Flashback Racer brewed by Bear Republic (10.4) and finishing up the five we tasted Moonjumper - Milk Stout (6.1) brewed by Destihl Brewing. Now there was one thing you don't see everyday on the chalked beer menu board, and that was way on the bottom and they had this on tap was Schlitz - American Lager (The Beer that made Wisconsin famous) (4.6%)......lol!!
Suddenly over all the brewery noise I hear Brad's stomach growling like the alpha lion in the Barnum-Bailey Circus act. I do believe this crew was in need of some food. Radicle Effect was our fourth Tour stop but we decided to power on to the next brewery and figure out the food there.
Radicle Effect is a neighborhood brewery that offers 3-4 originals along with 6-8 other brewery beers on tap and an extensive list of bottled and canned beer. You can even get a Brandy Old Fashion Sweet if your little old heart desires. Come one come all and experience the Radicle Effect.
Until next time and remember.........
Go get'cha one!!
